Field Trips
Holistic Learning. Meaningful Experiences.
Because Learning
Happens Everywhere
At our schools, education is intentionally holistic. Academic excellence is paired with meaningful experiences that foster character, connection, spirituality, and social growth. Learning happens everywhere—during structured lessons, shared celebrations, outdoor exploration, and the moments in between.
We believe the most powerful education is built through relationships, experiences, and a strong sense of belonging.

Our Shabbatons are one of the most meaningful and transformative experiences we offer for our middle school students. These immersive weekend retreats allow students to step away from daily routines and fully experience Shabbat in a communal, joyful, and reflective setting.
Students spend an entire weekend at a summer camp–style retreat center, engaging in:
-
Team-building and outdoor activities before and after Shabbat
-
Shared meals, prayer, singing, and reflection
-
Deep bonding with classmates and staff
-
A warm, authentic experience of Shabbat lived together
During Shabbat itself, the pace slows. Students experience the beauty of community, presence, and spirituality—creating memories and connections that often become defining moments of their middle school years.

Elementary Havdalah
Bring students, families, and staff together to joyfully mark the transition from Shabbat into the new week. Through song and ritual, students experience Jewish tradition as warm, meaningful, and shared.
Middle School Malava Malka
Offers middle school students positive, supervised Saturday night programming that extends the spirit of Shabbat. These gatherings foster friendship, belonging, and Jewish connection in a relaxed social setting.
Community Celebrations
Students and families come together for joyful, school-wide celebrations of Jewish life. From Purim festivities to menorah lightings, these moments reinforce that Judaism is meant to be lived and shared.
Israeli Shuk Experience
An annual tradition where students bring Israeli culture to life through a vibrant, student-created marketplace. Families experience learning through food, language, creativity, and hands-on engagement.

Field Trips
Field trips are a vital extension of our curriculum and values. They are intentionally designed to deepen learning, spark curiosity, and connect students to the world around them. Our students regularly visit:
-
Museums and science centers
-
Nature centers and outdoor exploration sites
-
Art and cultural institutions
-
Sporting events and community outings
Our 7th and 8th grade students also participate in intergenerational programming, visiting the Ovation Jewish Home to build relationships with seniors. These visits foster empathy, respect, and meaningful connections across generations, creating powerful learning experiences that extend far beyond the classroom.
